On June 12, 2021, several women from the House of Prayer for All Nations (HOPFAN) church in Boy-Rabe took an oath to dedicate themselves entirely to CHRIST, surrendering their bodies, souls and spirits into the Hands of their LORD and Savior. When we read carefully the Book of Esther, Hadassah, we understand better the significance of this name.
These women, who are now part of the HOPFAN Department of Hadassah Women, marched the day before they were sworn in on the streets of Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, to demonstrate their commitment to our LORD YAHSHUA (JESUS CHRIST). They introduced themselves again on December 1st, during the parade organized in Bangui on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Central African Republic.
In their commitment, these women relied on Isaiah 6:8 (NIV): “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'” They solemnly declared, “I pledge before GOD and Mankind to become a faithful member of the Hadassah Women’s Movement. I agree to attend all the meetings of the Movement and to become a servant committed in faith, deed and word to the work of the Lord.” May the LORD YAHWEH be praised for this and accompany them throughout their service by the Power of His Holy Spirit and in the Name of YAHSHUA!
On Sunday, June 13, Pastor Gonitoua of HOPFAN church uplifted GOD’s people by preaching on the theme of GOD’s Anointing. From the Books of 2 Samuel 12:20, Daniel 10:3, Matthew 6:17-18, Luke 7:46-47, and 1 Kings 19:15-17, the Pastor emphasized the difference between ordinary anointing with ordinary oil and official, spiritual anointing with official oil.
For example, 2 Samuel 12:20 states, “Then David got up from the ground. After he had washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes, he went into the house of the LORD and worshipped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they served him food, and he ate.” While 1 Kings 19:15-17 states this, “15. The LORD said to him, ‘Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram. 16. Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet.” The difference between the two types of anointing is clear.
When we are anointed with the official oil, we will have political responsibility. In 1 Kings, we learn that GOD sent Elijah to go to Syria to anoint Hazael as king of that land. Hazael had not yet become king, but GOD had already called him to be king. And GOD also told Elijah to go and anoint Jehu to be king of Israel, and Elisha to succeed him as a prophet. When GOD gives an official anointing, it is for a specific job and one must wait for GOD’s proper time before embarking on that job.
The Book of 2 Kings 2 uplifts us on one key point about GOD’s anointing: After anointing Elisha, and before being taken up into Heaven, what did Elijah do? He said to Elisha, “Stay here; the LORD has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha refused and said to him, as it were, “your foot, my foot.” Elijah went on to say, “Stay here, Elisha; the LORD has sent me to Jericho.” But Elisha repeated, “your foot, my foot.” The third time, Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here; the LORD has sent me to the Jordan.” But again, Elisha replied, “Your foot, my foot.”
Even though you have the Anointing, you also need a Mantle … Elijah had anointed Elisha as a prophet in his place but did not give him his mantle. Until the day he was taken up by GOD into Heaven, Elijah had still his mantle on him and he dropped it when he was taken up. From then on, Elisha took the mantle and became a full Prophet in Elijah’s place, and he did twice as many miracles as Elijah …
The Mantle is not given to just anyone and is not given just any way. It can happen that some people do a lot of damage because they don’t have the Mantle. Don’t say: “I’ve done it. I already know how to do it. I can do it.” Even if you have already reached your level, even if you know how to do it and can do it, remain patient because there is still something more you must have before you begin where GOD has called you. And that is the Mantle, which symbolizes the Ministry or Mission that GOD is giving you …
That’s why there are lots of little churches in all our neighborhoods. Because some people pay CFAF 300,000 to become prophets, others CFAF 150,000 to become deaconesses, and others give money to get the positions they covet in the churches. Your relatives will pay someone you know to come to your house to have you kneel and to anoint you … GOD does not approve of such acts.
There are also different types of formal Anointing. For example, there is the Anointing whereby GOD calls a person to serve as a helper in the church and to serve Him as a deacon or deaconess, or to do specific good works. Stephen, presented in the Bible, was a deacon and GOD used him to perform many miracles; but he remained a deacon until his death, without seeking new duties.
There is also an Anointing to preserve the Holiness, an Anointing to maintain the Presence of GOD, and an Anointing for the sick as stated in James 5:14. One can also be anointed with the Holy Spirit, as specified in Acts 10:38, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” Likewise, when GOD called Moses, He anointed him with the Holy Spirit. No one had poured oil on Moses’ head. And it was after this act that GOD told Moses to anoint Aaron and Aaron’s sons.
There is also the medical Anointing that can free you from a disease when applied on you. GOD can heal you through this medical Anointing. Generally, when a person who was demon possessed is freed from that demon by GOD, GOD must still act to free that person as a former source of demons. As GOD is Sovereign, He gives His Anointing to whomever and how He wants …
The Anointing that JESUS CHRIST used in John 9:6-41 was not written anywhere. As JESUS CHRIST is GOD, He created His own Anointing! He found a born blind man who had never seen the light since he was born. JESUS CHRIST used to pray for the sick, lay hands on people and raise the dead. But this time, He spat on the ground. He didn’t have a bottle of anointing oil with Him like some people like to have. He spat on the ground and made mud. Those who were there may have said, “How dirty! He’s dirty!” But JESUS CHRIST took that mud and applied it to the eyes of the blind man. And He said to the blind man, “Go wash in the Pool of Siloam.” But if it were you, for example, you would probably have said, “What did you put on my eyes?” Or you would have asked those beside you, “What did he put on my eyes there? Ooooh!!!” You would have made a scandal and prevented your healing …
Many people want GOD to do everything for them! If GOD gives you a baby, GOD has to take you to the midwife and prepare the layette. Even worse, once the child is born, GOD must come and wash her/him for you, and if the child cries, it is still GOD who must breastfeed her/him! For you, GOD must do everything for you! Worse still, on the delivery table, instead of pushing the child out, you will ask GOD to push the child because it is He who gave you this child … No, it must not be like that.
GOD works in collaboration with us. There is the part of GOD and there is the part of the man or woman. The part of JESUS CHRIST in this passage of John 9 was that He prepared the Anointing and applied it to the eyes of the blind man. Then it was up to the blind man to go to the Pool of Siloam to wash his eyes. This blind man did not get angry and did not oppose GOD, unlike others today. The blind man went to wash his eyes at the Pool of Siloam, out of obedience to CHRIST. And when he washed his eyes in this way, his eyes were opened.
When you have the Anointing, your life must necessarily change! The one who was a beggar changed his occupation, he changed his job! The Devil has a method that he uses to divert people so that they change in the wrong direction. There are many children of GOD who have abandoned the Altar of GOD. Many powerful instruments of GOD are being diverted from GOD because they have been given money, positions of responsibility and many privileges. Spiritually, these people are dying before the LORD even if they are still standing physically. We must be very careful …
So when GOD calls you and you have His Anointing, whether you want it or not, your life will change. And people will notice it just like they noticed the blind man had changed and some wondered if it was really him. And the former blind man said, “That’s me.” The person who has the Anointing of GOD is not ashamed of GOD! JESUS CHRIST had sent the blind man to the Pool of Siloam and “Siloam” means “Sent”, which also means “Apostle”. This man whom JESUS CHRIST had just healed was already like an apostle sent by GOD. His life was changed and he was not ashamed to speak about JESUS CHRIST. He was not anointed to fight against JESUS CHRIST, but to witness CHRIST.
You are anointed to be sent by GOD to serve Him. And when the Anointing is there, you must take the Mantle that goes with it. Elisha received the Anointing, but he did not get the Mantle until the day Elijah was taken up into Heaven. It is GOD who knows exactly what different anointings He has to give you. And you must keep these anointings by living a life of Holiness.
We must give ourselves to GOD. If you are not one of the HOPFAN church Hadassah women who have made a promise to dedicate themselves to the LORD, know all the same that GOD always anoints a man or a woman to serve Him! If GOD calls you, you must serve Him! For He will hold you accountable.
GOD calls us to do good works. He said in His Word that the one who sows for his flesh will reap flesh, but the one who sows for the Spirit will reap eternal Life. The one who sows for the Spirit is the one who sows for GOD, for GOD is Spirit. It is not good to sow for your flesh.
That is why we must love and serve GOD. Everyone must get up and get to work for GOD. Because we are already committed to GOD, regardless of the times and circumstances.
Shalom!
