Music is a powerful language to speak to our soul. GOD gave us the gift of music to celebrate Him, praise Him, glorify Him, worship Him, magnify Him. David, the man after GOD’s own Heart understood it, as shown in the Book of Psalm 33:1-3: “1. Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. 2. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. 3. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.”

In Heaven, music is used to praise the LORD. This can be seen in Revelation 14:2-5: “2. And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. 3. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No-one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4. These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. 5. No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.”

In addition, one can see that in Revelation 5:11-14, Angels praise the LORD and give glory to the Lamb. In reality, all creatures of GOD are called to praise the LORD for eternity: “11. Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12. In a loud voice they sang: ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise!’ 13. Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever!’ 14. The four living creatures said, ‘Amen’, and the elders fell down and worshipped.”

It is therefore quite consistent with GOD’s Vision for His children that we devote the gifts of music He gave us to His Service, for His Glory and the advancement of His Kingdom.
